About this event

GEEARS: Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready Students is excited to announce the seventh annual Strolling Thunder. This event gives families from around Georgia the opportunity to speak personally with elected officials about the joys and challenges of raising young children. We’re bringing along our little ones in their strollers to send a clear message: To build strong families, vibrant communities, and a prosperous state, our lawmakers must prioritize families with young children.

Strolling Thunder will take place on Thursday, February 22nd from 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Your young children (infants through five-year-olds) are invited to attend this event with you. Expectant parents are welcome to attend, as well. During this fun-filled day, our home base will be the Freight Room at the Georgia Freight Depot. We’ll be there for snacks and lunch, giveaways, kid-friendly entertainment, and more! We’ll also cross the street to visit with our legislators at the Capitol.

Families who attend will receive a gift card for their participation (one per family). Prior to the event, you will receive a recording of a virtual training session to help you prep for the event.

It’s more urgent than ever that Georgia’s leaders support young children and their families. We hope you will join us in making your children’s potential Georgia’s priority.
